Hidden Deep is a 2D action & exploration sci-fi thriller set in a mining and research facility – more than a mile under the ocean floor.

A group of researchers detected strange anomalies of unknown nature and organized an expedition to examine the mysterious phenomenon. Suddenly, after 681 days, contact with the researchers breaks off. You are the leader of the second team: Go down there, find out what happened, rescue anybody who is alive.

COMMAND YOUR TEAM – OPERATE EQUIPMENT – FACE UNKNOWN HORRORS

Control your team members directly or by giving orders. Accomplish your mission by coordinating different tasks. Explore the sub oceanic caves by using specialized equipment: grappling hooks, scanners, drones and heavy machinery are all part of your arsenal.

Defend against horrific alien life forms and other, undiscovered horrors that lurk in the deep.

Why Early Access?

“Since I am a single developer, Early Access will help me get in touch with my audience and community during the development process already, which will help me tremendously to deliver the horror experience I aim for with Hidden Deep.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Depending on the feature requests that evolve during development I will be able to adjust the scope of the game, right now I would like to have the game fully realized within one to three years, given that I am solo developer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I want to implement some features that would thrive and profit from Early Access feedback, namely more multiplayer options and native multiplayer support, leaderboards and a level editor. The core features of Hidden Deep are already in place, but also for the single player campaign I plan on delivering ongoing story development and further content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game delivers a stable core experience already, with the first of many levels in the story mode and high replayability with the challenge mode (which also includes split screen co-op already). Furthermore, there is already a variety of monsters lurking in the deep, with more to come.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Possibly. I’d evaluate the pricing regularly as the game gains features, expands in scope and moves to beta and the final release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I am already very involved with letting my community be part of the development. But giving them access to the game to move them from onlookers to participants will increase the involvement and give both sides a great opportunity to improve the game over the period of Early Access.”
