Why Early Access?
“We want Stygian: Outer Gods to be the best game it can be, and Early Access gives us a chance to work closely with the community to make that happen. Player feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and having direct input from those experiencing the game firsthand will help us fine-tune mechanics, improve balance, and expand on what works best.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“Our goal is to have the full version of Stygian: Outer Gods ready for release in the first half of 2026. However, we want to ensure the game is as polished as possible before leaving Early Access. If additional time is needed to reach that level of quality, we may extend the development period beyond our initial estimate.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The full version of the game is planned to be roughly double in size compared to the initial Early Access release, and to feature a complete story, with a total playtime of 10+ hours, depending on how much a player likes to explore the world, read all the lore from books and letters, etc. Throughout the Early Access period, we aim to add plenty of new content, such as additional locations, characters and quests, weapons, abilities, enemy types, and boss encounters. Besides that, we are planning to record more English voiceovers, and to expand localization to include French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese subtitles at full launch. Of course, these plans may change based on player feedback.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“The Early Access launch version includes multiple detailed areas to explore, specifically the village of Kingsport, the courtyard of Brasko family mansion, the dark forest, the mines, the lighthouse with its strange Keeper, the beach, and several parts of the eldritch Outworld. Players have access to a variety of melee weapons and firearms – a knife, sickle, heavy hammer, revolver, shotgun, and rifle – as well as a plethora of usable items and crafting materials. Character progression is driven by choosing from 8 Sinner’s and 16 Seer’s skill cards, each shaping the player's abilities and thus their playstyle. Even in Early Access, these systems offer room for experimentation, allowing players to tackle challenges in different ways across multiple playthroughs. For now, the game is available in English only, but additional language support is planned for the 1.0 release.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Yes, we are planning to increase the price during the Early Access period. We will give players notice well ahead before any price adjustments, using the Steam news, Discussion forums, and our social media channels.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“We have already been gathering input from our Discord community and Steam Discussion forums, and we will continue to rely on these platforms for insights from players, as it is extremely important for us in the development of the game. We encourage everyone to share their experiences – whether that’s feedback on gameplay, ideas for improvements, or bug reports. We are also closely monitoring Steam reviews to identify what players enjoy and what could use refinement.”
This game may contain content not appropriate for all ages. The game contains frequent violence and horror.
