In Sid Meier's Civilization VI, Alexander rules Macedonia, while Cyrus rules Persia! Macedonia's capabilities allow you to conquer the entire world, while Persia can become wealthy and cultured, or launch surprise invasions with incredible ease. These historical enemies are beautifully combined and featured in the new "Conquests of Alexander" campaign. Can you determine the fate of the Near East and the course of history?

Alexander the Great includes the Macedonian civilization with its unique Hypaspist union and the unique Basilikoi Paides building:

  • Civ Unique Ability: The “Hellenistic Fusion” ability grants Macedon Tech or Civic Eureka based on the Districts available in the captured city.
  • Leader Unique Ability: Alexander's "To World's End" ability greatly reduces battle fatigue, allowing Macedon to stay in the fight longer. He also grants Macedon the Hetairoi. This is a fast Heavy Cavalary unit that replaces the Horseman, starting with a free upgrade.
  • Unique Unit: The Hypaspist replaces the Swordsman, receives extra bonuses from supporting units, and is stronger at sieging Districts.
  • Unique Building: The Basilikoi Paides can be built in any Encampment without a stable. It provides a bonus to all melee, ranged, and Hetairoi ground troops trained in the city. It also grants a small amount of science whenever an official unit is created in the city.

Also includes the Persian civilization with Cyrus, the Immortal unique unit, and the Pairidaeza unique development:

  • Civ Unique Ability: The “Satrapies” ability grants Iran a free Trade Route and increased efficiency from internal trade routes when they develop Political Philosophy.
  • Leader Unique Ability: Cyrus has the "Fall of Babylon" ability. This ability grants a short-term movement and efficiency bonus after declaring a Surprise War, and also negates some diplomatic penalties incurred from declaring a Surprise War.
  • Unique Unit: Iran's unique unit is the famed Immortal. This unit, replacing the Swordsman, gains a ranged attack bonus and is very strong defensively.
  • Unique Upgrade: Pairidaeza provide Culture, Gold, and Appeal, as well as bonus Culture or Gold for nearby District and City Centers. Over time, they will yield more as you progress through the tech and civic trees.

New “Conquests of Alexander” Scenario:

  • Race against time to prove yourself a great conqueror as Alexander the Great! This campaign focuses on warfare, growth, and the proper use of Great Generals.
  • As you increase the difficulty you have fewer and fewer turns in which to conquer the known world, providing a real challenge for military strategists.

Two New Wonders:

  • Mausoleum at Halicarnassus: One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World returns to Civilization. The Mausoleum allows you to gain additional bonuses from Great Admirals and Great Engineers.
  • Apadana: The Persians were famous for their audience chambers, and the best example is found in Persepolis. This Wonder grants extra Envoy for every World Wonder you build, including Apadana!
